Curriculum

Little Tiny Tots Learning Center consists of four classrooms and four school-age programs.  We feel that no matter the class, each student deserves a structured curriculum experience to maximize learning and preparedness in life.

Preschool 1
  • Potty training

  • Flash cards (primary colors, shapes)

  • ABC's

  • Counting from 1 to 10

  • Coloring papers

    • Letter, shape, and color of the week worksheets​

  • Read books

  • Singing action songs

  • First name recognition

  • Animal recognition and sounds

  • Fridays: activity based on the weekly theme (painting, gluing, coloring, etc.)

  • Puzzles

  • Teaching how to follow a simple 1-command sentence

  • Teaching how to put shoes and jacket on independently

  • Eating in the dining room

    • Using "please" and "thank you"​

    • Not throwing the plate

    • Using a fork/spork

    • Using a cup and asking for more

    • Using a napkin to wipe the face and hands

Preschool 2
  • Advanced fine motor skills

    • Play dough and bead lacing

    • Cutting with scissors and paper tearing

    • Drawing, tracing, and learning how to hold a pencil/crayon

    • Sorting, patterns, and puzzles

    • Building blocks

    • Using glue

  • Continue learning colors and shapes (visual and worksheets)

  • Calendar themes (days of the week, months, holidays, and weather types)

  • Centers (block center, house center, book center, fine motor skills center)

  • Story time (Bible stories and regular stories)

  • Reciting the alphabet

  • Counting from 1 to 20

  • Letter and number recognition (visual, flash cards, and worksheets)

  • Name recognition and spelling first name (visual, flash cards, and worksheets)

  • Singing songs and dance/exercise

  • Following a simple 2-3 command sentence

  • Dressing independently (underwear, shirt, socks, pants, shoes, jacket)

  • Art projects

  • Learning to use words to communicate with teachers and other students

  • Learning how to take cot sheet off cot for laundry day and then remaking the cot

  • Independently using the bathroom and washing hands

Preschool 3
  • Circle time - months and days of the week, calendar, weather for the day, assigning classroom jobs (passing out papers, carrying clipboard, door monitor, light monitor, weather checker)

  • Reading Bible stories and regular stories

  • Singing action songs and reciting poems

  • Counting from 1 to 30

  • Fine motor skills

    • Play dough and bead lacing​

    • Puzzles

    • Sorting and matching

    • Stacking

    • Cutting with scissors

  • Playing simple table games with matching and memory elements

  • Worksheets (writing name, letters, numbers, simple mazes, matching objects, coloring inside lines)

  • Memorizing the months

  • Learning manners and how to treat others

  • Art projects

  • Reinforcing how to dress independently

  • Learning how to take the cot sheet and blanket off the cot for laundry day and then remaking the cot

Pre-K
  • Circle time - months and days of the week, calendar date, daily weather, Bible story/manners story, singing, exercising

  • Review numbers, the alphabet, colors and shapes

  • Counting from 1 to100

  • Center learning (math, writing, and science) with the various activities designed to aid in hand-eye coordination,  memory skill, fine motor skills, problem solving, etc.​​

  • Dramatic play - teaches self-regulation, gives children an outlet to express emotions, teaches conflict resolution and how to work with others, supports literacy, and develops creative thinking and storytelling abilities

  • Writing skills (letters, numbers, first and last name, and sort sentences

  • Worksheets on sorting, matching, rhyming, same/different, big/small, cutting and gluing, and patterns

  • Simple math skills (addition and subtraction)

  • Telling time (both digital and analog clocks)

  • Money recognition and values

  • Reading (letter recognition and letter sounds, blend sheets, and simple reader books)

  • Introductory science and history

  • Computer time (using a computer and mouse and learning games)

  • Memorization (name, birth date, parents' names, letters, letter sounds, numbers, etc.)

  • Kindergarten preparedness testing twice per year

    • First test in fall to determine skill level and areas for growth​

    • Second test in spring to assess Kindergarten preparedness

  • Preparation for Kindergarten screening, which takes place in April at St. Clair School District
